The Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Mackinac Island is a cherished holiday tradition that kicks off the season with warmth and cheer. Set against the backdrop of the island’s historic charm, the event features caroling, festive decorations, and the lighting of a magnificent Christmas tree in the heart of downtown. This magical evening brings the community together to celebrate the spirit of the season.

Mackinac Island Christmas Bazaar – December 6 – 8, 2024

Mackinac Island Christmas Bazaar

The Mackinac Island Christmas Bazaar is a fundraiser for the Mackinac Island Medical Center as well as St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Little Stone Church, Trinity Episcopal Church and the Mackinac Island Bible Church.

The annual Christmas Bazaar weekend will be December 6 – 8, 2024. The weekend kicks off with the Christmas Tree Lighting on Friday evening at 5:00 pm on Main Street (watch the ceremony live!). Saturday and Sunday feature the Christmas Bazaar located at Community Hall and include a silent auction, live auction, 50/50 raffle, snowmobile raffle, crafts, bake sale, balsam pillows, ice cream and more!

The Great Turtle Drop – a festive celebration of the arrival of the New Year on Mackinac Island – will take place once again this year on Main Street. The Great Turtle will be lowered from top of the Lilac Tree Hotel at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve.

Cawthorne’s Village Inn is featuring a special menu starting at 5:00pm. Reservations suggested. Drink specials all night long with a champagne toast at Midnight! Live music by Brian Thomas starting at 9:30pm.

Mustang Lounge is celebrating the New Year with a special menu featuring chicken marsala, seafood fettuccine Alfredo, broiled and Parmesan crusted whitefish, beef tenderloin, herb roasted chicken and surf n turf. Prices range from $18-$35. Reservations suggested. Dance the night away with DJ Brevin from 10pm-3am
