Day 4 and our last full day on Mackinac Island and we soaked up every single second! 🏝️🥹 Started the morning slow and easy at the Watercolor Cafe with homemade poppies and breakfast sandwiches! Then downtown shopping before making our way to the shoreline to just breathe it all in and listen to Lake Huron do her thing! 🌊 Mary’s Bistro chicken fingers may have just changed our lives and the kids are already talking about coming back just for those! 🍗😂 Then we stopped at Mackinac Island Cookie Company for cookies that are literally bigger than your head! 🍪 And of course we could not leave without fudge from Murray’s! Bailey’s and orange creamsicle flavors because why not! 🍫 Nick grabbed his last nap on the lawn while the kids hit the pool one final time! Then we treated everyone to dinner at Grill Room 1852 where the kids had QUESTIONS about all those forks and butter knives! 😂 And yes I may have dropped the asparagus all over the table more than once! No shame! 🤣 We ended the night with a slow walk to town at sunset listening to the horses clink along the road one last time! Mackinac Island you have our whole hearts! 🌅🐴 Where are we headed next! Two 2’ wide paintings create at the same spot one year apart on #mackinacisland during lilac festival 🟪 🎨 People notice the color in my work, which is wonderful, but I don’t hear as much about the recording of the light and atmosphere as I feel is present in the pieces. One was painted during the haze of the wildfires last year and this years was painted on a nice spring day when the sun was out. 12x24 2025 - sold- Mackinacs Little Gallery 18x24 2026 - available through the artist
