About Legacy Five
This October, we look forward to welcoming Legacy Five back to the Grand stage. When the legendary cathedral quartet retired in December of 1999, Scott Fowler and Roger Bennett decided to continue the rich musical tradition of Southern gospel quartet singing. Legacy Five was organized and had their official debut in January 2000 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Since that day, they have made a major mark on the Southern gospel music world. Immediately, audiences responded overwhelmingly to their four-part harmony and their ability to effectively communicate the message of Christ. Register for three RunMackinac races (either the Fort2Fort 5 Mile or the Lilac Festival 10K, plus both the Mackinac Eight Mile and the Great Turtle Trail Race) and you will receive a special Mackinac Island Trio Series medal. This will be a separate medal from the other finisher’s medals you will receive at the completion of all three races, and will be awarded following the Great Turtle Half Marathon. To register for the Trio, go to either the Fort2Fort or Lilac 10k races and you will see the registration box. You can also register individually for all three events and be eligible for the Trio and the medal.

The package includes a casual dinner on Sunday evening and breakfast on Monday morning. Enjoy a relaxed, informal atmosphere with casual attire from Sunday to Monday as we clear our pantries and wine cellar in preparation for the months ahead.
Resident Historian Bob Tagatz will share insights into the hotel’s closing traditions, along with stories and memorable moments from the 2025 season. On Monday morning, guests will take part in cherished traditions, including the ringing of the bell, bringing in the Front Porch rockers, and the Grand Legend Celebration honoring exemplary service. Guests will be invited to take home a piece of Grand Hotel with a geranium from the Front Porch.
