Mackinac Island Great Turtle Trail Run – Photos
This year marks the 23rd running of one of the most scenic trail events in the state. We have a capacity of 3,000 participants running and walking the inside trails of Mackinac Island during the last open weekend of the season.

Another awesome race on #mackinacisland. It was carey86c and my second run on the island this year. After taking quite a break to nurse a hamstring injury, I was very pleased with the time I was able to put down. Naturally, carey86c finished ahead of me. One more run on the island this year to complete the tri-fecta. We will be back at the end of October for the #greatturtlerun #mackinacisle #bestrunteamever

Results from yesterday’s Great Turtle! A road washout meant shorter course but more hills. The “dangerous hill” sign is actually at the start of the race. Nothing like torched quads in the first half mile. Lol! So much fun. My favorite race. Great medals, cool swag (fleece blankets this year). And a beautiful course. My face when my Garmin connect app finally begins working again! . half marathon training: week 3, day 2: this is a recovery week. Yesterday I actually had NO workouts scheduled, which was really nice! Today I completed a “Fast Finish” run, and it felt great. I feel like I’m finally getting the hang out this heart rate training!
