Another great Chicago-Mackinac Race! An excellent team again on IY11.98 Rosa Del Mare. Light and downwind conditions for the race, quite the change from last years thunderstorms and 40 knot winds. It was a drag race from the start, the top 4 boats in our section finished within a few miles of each other while the 12 others behind finished several hours later. Lots of action on the Yellowbrick tracker to check out! We placed 19th out of 104 boats in our division. A total of 243 boats raced this year. Mackinac Island was again the perfect destination, and of course the party, the last great regatta party in the US, was just epic. Thanks Tom and Rose for another great time on the Lake! Congrats to IY9.98 Das Boot for placing 5th in the division and 2nd in section! Congrats to Justin and DWY broker Ted Lockwood for winning the double handed division! Looking forward to next years Mac! racetomackinac #cycrtm david_walters_yachts italia_yachts_usa italiayachts

With family in St Ignace, I have been to just about every event and activity in the area except one, until last week. The Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac. We spent a day on Mackinac Island at the finish line watching the boats complete the 114th annual 333 mile race. It was a hazy day thanks to some more Canadian wild fire smoke so the vivid colors of the sails and bridge didn’t come through in the photos as well as in person. I still think you can get an idea of how special the day was. #CYCRTM #canonphotography #progradedigital #blackrapidstrap #thinktankphoto
