UPDATE: Spoke with Arnold Line( again) and they said definitely no service today (January 8, 2010) – they also said odds are against any more passenger service this year unless there is a significant change in the conditions of the ice. However, anything can happen – check for updates on their website or call Arnold Transit Co. at 1-800-542-8528)
Looks like a perfect weekend to take a break from shopping at the malls and ride the Arnold ferry over to Mackinac Island. The snowy start to December has established a nice base for the the cross country ski trails and the word is the ski club groomers have been out smoothing the trails.
You can take an early ferry to the island fly Great Lakes Air (906-643-7165), ski the trails, have lunch at the Village Inn or the Mustang or Patrick Sinclair’s Irish Pub and catch the last ferry flight back to the mainland. You can be even more adventurous and fly Great Lakes Air to the island from St. Ignace. You can get off the plane and ski right from the airport terminal on the island.
Of course, if you want to make a weekend of your Mackinac Island winter holiday, you can find a cozy room (or suite) at one of hotels or bed & breakfast inns that remain open during the winter months. THE PONTIAC LODGE has been the mainstay of winter lodging over the years. BOGAN LANE INN BED & BREAKFASTalso welcomes winter visitors to the island. This year THE COTTAGE INN will also be open from December 18, 2009 through February 21, 2010.

Though some might not recognize the long railing that once lined the Front Porch, it was replaced in the 1930’s by the red geraniums we know and love today.
Since 1887, guests have wandered across our Front Porch, relaxing in rocking chairs, watching horse-drawn carriages roll by, and ships float past on the Straits of Mackinac.

Medyo kaka-iba mga goals ko nung bata ako.. they contradicted each other – florist 🌸 kasi na addict ako dati over Thalia and her character as “Rosalinda”! 😍🌹 Doctor 👩🏻⚕️ kasi gusto ko mang gamot ng libre sa mahihirap ☺️, Pilot 👩✈️ dahil na amused ako sa mga eroplanong lumilipad sa ibabaw ng bahay namin galing Plaridel airport, Artista 🎞 naman dahil sa kagustuhan ng aking nanay saka gusto ko din sana ma pa-aral lahat mga kapatid at pinsan ko.😊 Ito katuwa sa lahat, mga 6 yrs old ako noon - pinangarap ko talaga maging magla-lako ng manggang hinog!!🥭😂 May mga puno kasi kami ng mangga sa probinsya tapos cool na cool sa tingin ko ung mga aleng may bilao sa ulo habang nagla-lako ng paninda nila. No joke!😅😍 – Well, with the exception (still) of being a mango peddler, I’d say I got to experience all of them one way or another. Flight ✈️ school, showbiz... I am actually now a gardener and sick people - I heal in Jesus’ name!!😄🙏🏼😉 And even though I wasn’t as successful as I could’ve chosen to be in the industry of showbiz and aviation, I am living my dream life💍🤱🏻. I absolutely love the woman of God I am becoming!!💖 And it feels so good to say. . . The evening of July 24, 2012 features the CHRIS B ACOUSTIC SHOW from the Inn at Stonecliffe Portico.
Amazing views of the bridge and straits, excellent food and cocktails on the portico outside!
Music starts at 6pm and ends at 9pm….
Chris Brantley has earned a reputation as a true professional in his musicianship, his instruction, and his demeanor. He has performed and recorded with some of the top bands in Detroit, including Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels, Cathy Davis and The Soulsearchers, Barbara Payton, Revision, Laura Wilkie, Mark Reitenga, The Reefermen, Blackman and Arnold World Jazz Band, The Killer Flamingos, The Butler Twins, The James Cloyd Group, Curtis Sumpter Project, Nikki James and the Flamethrowers, Joy Sparks, and hosts two weekly open jam sessions featuring some of the best talent in the city. In addition to his busy performance schedule, Chris devotes a large amount of focus on his current job as the Director of Instructors at Axis Music Academy, where he recruits and trains teachers, develops lesson materials and curriculum guidelines, and weekly mentors 40 of his own students.
