The journey to the Upper Peninsula was a truly exceptional experience. Our route spanned three states, featuring scenic drives along Lakes Michigan and Superior, as well as a visit to Mackinac Island. We traversed the rural agricultural regions of America, staying in three distinct Airbnb accommodations with positive experiences. Throughout our extensive 2000 km drive, certain aspects stood out as consistent, including superior road conditions, cleanliness of facilities, beauty of towns and villages, helpfulness of locals, quality of dining establishments, comprehensiveness of gas stations, and responsiveness of emergency services. This trip has left an indelible mark on our memories.

The Jewel is comprised of the Grand nine, across the street from the hotel; and the Woods nine, set in the interior of Mackinac Island. The Jewel features scenic beauty, lush landscaping and meticulously manicured tees, fairways and greens.
The Grand nine was built in 1901 and redesigned in 1987. The Woods nine, added in 1994, was designed by golf course architect Jerry Matthews. Transportation between the Grand nine and Woods nine is by specially designed horse-drawn carriage. Clubs are available for rental. Golf carts and pull carts are available. Accommodations for two nights
$25.00 daily food & beverage credit per adult and teen age 13-17 to be used at any Mission Point restaurant
Kids’ meal benefits are available exclusively at Round Island Kitchen for guests actively checked in to the resort. Children 4 and under receive one complimentary kids’ meal per child (up to two per adult entrée). Children ages 5 – 12 receive 50% off one kids’ meal per child (also up to two per adult entrée). Each kids’ meal includes one beverage. All qualifying meals must be charged to the guest room to receive these benefits
One round of golf at Wawashkamo Golf Club with rental clubs, carts and round trip taxi
One round of golf on the Greens of Mackinac putting course
Round trip ferry tickets on Shepler’s Ferry (pick up at will call from either Mackinaw City or St. Ignace)

Package requires a two night minimum stay and is subject to availability from May 29 – September 5, 2026. All inclusions are for the number of adults and children stated on the reservation; inclusions listed above are based on a two-night stay. Please note that there are no refunds on unused portions of the package. All stays are subject to 6% Michigan Sales Tax, 10% Resort Levy Fee, and 4% Mackinac Island Assessment Fee.
