Finally got to check out the gorgeous #mackinacisland which is in between the lower and upper peninsulas of Michigan. Everything about the island was magical, from the breathtaking views, to the grandness of the Grand Hotel. And don’t forget the must try fudge shops which are everywhere. So much more to explore and definitely want to go back! We opted for our chevrolegs instead of a horse drawn carriage tour and ended up walking over 8 miles! And that barely cracked the surface of what the island has to offer. We saw the stunning natural arch, Fort Mackinaw, the Grand Hotel, and enjoyed the downtown shops and eateries. My only advice, delay your trip past mid June to avoid the THRONGS of gnats. You’re just gonna have to trust me on that. #michigan #grandhotel #gomichigan #up #upmichigan #mackinac

Stepped back in time this weekend on the enchanting mackinacisle No cars, no rush—just the soft clip-clop of horse hooves, the smell of lilacs in the air, and the endless beauty of Lake Huron stretching in every direction. Explored charming streets lined with pastel storefronts, rode bikes along the scenic shoreline and watched the sun dip. Every corner felt like a postcard, every moment a little slower and sweeter. Can’t believe places like this still exist!
Do not forget the fudge—ever! We tried the one at joannsfudge and absolutely loved it—creamy, rich, and hands down one of the best we’ve ever had!

The Jewel is comprised of the Grand nine, across the street from the hotel; and the Woods nine, set in the interior of Mackinac Island. The Jewel features scenic beauty, lush landscaping and meticulously manicured tees, fairways and greens.
The Grand nine was built in 1901 and redesigned in 1987. The Woods nine, added in 1994, was designed by golf course architect Jerry Matthews.
