We are seeing a 15kt head wind and some 1-2 ft waves. It is supposed to pass by around 10AM and sleep until late afternoon. The wind should clock from NNW to NE as we pass through the straits.
Stopping in st ignace for fuel. We’re running hot at 2600 RPM and it burns more fuel.

Feels appropriate to talk about “bike trips” today in lieu of Bicycle Day, and boy, this was a special one. This was one of my absolute favs hands down! Our second year doing the #zoodemack ride I believe… Most of us rode it on steel single speeds with platform pedals, Polish Adam even rode it fixed . We blew past spandex costumed roadies doing 40mph hill bombs and were even given the nickname “The Smokers” by them . Most of us still smoked cigs at that point , but all rode like true bosses. _daviesdaniel rode like a champ faster than most on a 70’s Motobecane (ss) conversion with low psi and bullhorns. I remember struggling to keep up with Stevie, and couldn’t even hang with the savage Polish Adam. jessealanramsey t.lon9o joe_cityclub kurohata b_man646260 were all part of this special trip and we all had a blast! Too many stories to write about in this trip, but I know you guys remember them! Bikes bring people together and allow us to experience so many incredible benefits and memories in life. I remember this era being particularly difficult for me, personally. If I didn’t have my love and passion for bikes to guide me thru those times, it certainly would have been different. The Jewel is comprised of the Grand nine, across the street from the hotel; and the Woods nine, set in the interior of Mackinac Island. The Jewel features scenic beauty, lush landscaping and meticulously manicured tees, fairways and greens.
The Grand nine was built in 1901 and redesigned in 1987. The Woods nine, added in 1994, was designed by golf course architect Jerry Matthews. Transportation between the Grand nine and Woods nine is by specially designed horse-drawn carriage. Clubs are available for rental. Golf carts and pull carts are available.
