The Chicago Yacht Club-Race To Mackinac gets under way this Saturday. The lead boats will start arriving on Mackinac Island as early as late Sunday. Post-race partying after six days of race committee duty for racetomackinac, and a tiny view of the minor chaos of docking 100+ boats at the island. Parties included a newly created brunch for first timers - both crew of new boat/skipper combos doing their inaugural race, and individual crew members doing their first Mac. Love the positive reinforcement for newbies. #cycrtm

So it begins, a pretty intensive week of practice to get ready for the race to Mackinac. This will be my very first Mac race, and I’m beyond excited, our whole team is truly killing it, all getting prepped and ready for this. Yesterday was a very physically demanding and hard practice day, but no pain no gains, right? 🙂 I am glad together with my beloved boat sister/Defiance team member Sarah swbasel (a fellow professional musician, nevertheles) we got to enjoy some well deserved rest and grub at Columbia yatch club afterwards, catching up with all our loved ones. A full day. A beautiful day. All the love goes to my team. Live your best life, my friends. Tomorrow is not promised… but brick after brick castles are made 🫶
