Love ya dear friends... Dee

The year got away from me and I never walked up this "grand pathway" to the Grand. Button up soon for the winter. I have never been there in the winter so we are thinking of grabbing the charter airplane to fly over.

Oh how beautiful! I was just there last week but didn't stay in the Grand. I have stayed there before and I have wonderful memories. Took the Carriage Tour this time. Fun.....
Staying on the island Tuesday and Wednesday nights but not at the Grand. Hope to see this in person as well as lots of stars
Love the Grand! Will see you in a week!
My son joined the USCG and the Mackinac was his first duty station. We took him to Cheboygan and spent the weekend. Had never been there . We wandered up to Mackinac City and thought it was great. But oh.... when we took that ride to the Island. THE GRAND IS FABULOUS! My dream is going back someday and staying there!!💜
Been there and done that! Fantastic time I must say!!!!

They had a special on Mackinac Island on PBS last night. Not on the Grand but of course mentioned and grounds shown a good bit. Told about how the waste on the Island was taken care of. It was very interesting. Love You Guys !! <3

Throwback Thursday! Then & Now with Christopher Reeve taking a nap on the west end in everyone’s favorite film Somewhere In Time! Photograph by Grand Hotel Photographer Michael Samsky! @mrsamsky ... See MoreSee Less
WOW! Now THIS blows my MIND!! It's Oct.21 and as I'm sitting here WATCHING the movie "Somewhere in Time", I came across your post that my brother's girlfriend posted about the Grand Hotel and had to take a look! I love this particular photo you posted and how you mentioned the movie also. Here is the image from the movie (as I'm watching it). I first saw the movie on a flight from Calgary to Toronto in September, 1982, and when I came across the DVD a year ago, I couldn't pass it up! They could not have picked a finer place to film that movie other than the Grand Hotel!
My very favorite movie & my #1 on my list of places I have to see ❤
My favorite movie of all-time and my favorite place in the world! ❤️❤️❤️
This is our favourite movie, I based my wedding outfit on it 24 years ago, the hotel looks amazing, we are hoping to go for my 60th in 2021 and stay on my birthday 28th of June xx
Amazing, the Grand Hotel, we also stayed there for our 50th Anniv. I was disappointed to see they only had a couple of walls with pictures of the movie and cast.
Thanks for posting this! Keep Somewhere in Time alive! Best movie. Perfect cast. ❤️⏱🎥
Love that movie and love your beautiful hotel!! 😊💕💕
Love the movie and the Grand Hotel is so lovely too!
One of my favorites! Because of this film I’ve always dreamed of visiting the Grand Hotel. It hasn’t happened...yet... but hoping soon!
My all time favorite movie! Can't wait to visit the Island & hotel again! ❤ It's been over 40 years!😲
Loved the movie and C.R. Looking to one day visit this beautiful place.
I have yet to see the movie, but looking forward to catching it next weekend at The Grand!
I walked down the isle to Somewhere in Time music. The movie and hotel hold a special place in my heart. We lost Christopher much too young (and Dana too). God bless his children as they carry on without their parents.
My favorite movie, would like to stay there someday, mighty pricey for me. Will have to settle for a day trip
My favorite movie of all time!! The soundtrack was the background music for my 1985 wedding. Visiting the Grand Hotel is on my Bucket List
Great picture! Wow! We enjoyed our trip to the Island last year at this same time. I hope we can get back there soon.
Love this! Such a beautiful place! Movie is one of my favorites also.
Andi, Phillip and I stayed at the Grand for our 50th wedding anniversary. It is a amazing place on a beautiful island. We would love to go there again.
Dont forget to read the sequel! Memoirs of Elise! "This sequel/prequel to "Somewhere in Time" was inspired by the movie's poignant opening scene. In this scene Elise McKenna sits alone in the darkness waiting for her opportunity to give a young playwright, Richard Collier, a watch, and to utter the enigmatic words, "Come back to me." ... The book was never made into a movie. The author took it out of circulation. It is available to purchase but quite pricy. I read it through the library. Loved it...Jana Healey
I saw the movie, I read the book, and I visited Mackinac island many times but my dream of spending the night at the”Grand Hotel”came true in May of 2015.
Favorite place, was there when this was being filmed, for our honeymoon, 40 years ago!♥️
My favorite movie! I changed my last name when I got divorced to McKenna!
The Grand is absolute magical! I never thought I would ever be able to do more than dream of being at the Grand, the lovely dining, the island, and all its glory. But last oct of 2018, my husband and I went with a group , in a chartered bus, to Mackinaw City, boarded the ferry , which is awesome!!, and arrived on the island , waiting for our taxi ( horse and carriage, they loaded the luggage and we took our journey to the Grand! We all were checked in and ushered to our rooms, which ours was a Sm suite. We didn’t have a view , but not complaining. It was Gorgeous and perfect.. it was a dream come true, a real fairy tale! I felt so many things being there, the elegant dining , everything more that perfect! I never would have ever believed I was able to do this , to experience this dream for a few days! I never felt so peaceful, so good as I had at that time and i did not want it to end. The movie has always been a favorite , and I love the soundtrack as well..
I was working at the Grand that summer! Good memories!
I thought I was the only one who considered "Somewhere in Time" their favorite movie!
