Get ready for another epic, fun-filled Halloween celebration this Saturday, October 27, 2018, on Mackinac Island. Enjoy all of the Halloween decorations throughout the island. Dress the kids up in their favorite costumes and take them downtown for trick-or-treating from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm on Saturday. And then put on your favorite costume for some adult Halloween fun Saturday night at the Pink Pony and other bars and restaurants on the island. Children’s Trick-or-Treating down Main Street and Market Street. Businesses will be handing out candy Saturday the 27th, 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm.

This year marks the 23rd running of one of the most scenic trail events in the state. We have a capacity of 3,000 participants running and walking the inside trails of Mackinac Island during the last open weekend of the season.

Results from yesterday’s Great Turtle! A road washout meant shorter course but more hills. The “dangerous hill” sign is actually at the start of the race. Nothing like torched quads in the first half mile. Lol! So much fun. My favorite race. Great medals, cool swag (fleece blankets this year). And a beautiful course. Another awesome race on #mackinacisland. It was carey86c and my second run on the island this year. After taking quite a break to nurse a hamstring injury, I was very pleased with the time I was able to put down. Naturally, carey86c finished ahead of me. One more run on the island this year to complete the tri-fecta. We will be back at the end of October for the #greatturtlerun

We’re the honeybees at the #greatturtlerun on Mackinaw Island!! I could t run this year for the first time, because of low back pain and issues making it not possible, but I’m here to cheer everyone else on! What an amazing day! The weather held out for the race... no rain until I was all finished. Probably the toughest course I've ever run, so I'm super happy with my time... I'll take a 14 minute pace when the race director starts with 'there's a really steep hill right at the beginning, but don't let it scare you, there are lots more after that one'. Such a beautiful course! Oh, and that medal! I'm in love with that medal ♡

Closing out a great family weekend on Mackinac Island! Growing up my dad ran the series of running races on the island every year and we would trek up as a family with our good friends the Cunningham’s and Gemmell’s - ten kids and three couples gallivanting around the island and cheering on our dads when they finished the race. This year we ran as a family, it was a beautiful day! Today also marked four months post stem cell transplant for my dad! I’m so proud of his strength and determination. Thank you dad for teaching me how to fight, hustle and live life to the very fullest! You are a true inspiration ❤️ #mackinacisland #greatturtlerun #familytime #fallcolortour
