Get ready for another epic, fun-filled Halloween celebration this Saturday, October 27, 2018, on Mackinac Island. Enjoy all of the Halloween decorations throughout the island. Dress the kids up in their favorite costumes and take them downtown for trick-or-treating from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm on Saturday. And then put on your favorite costume for some adult Halloween fun Saturday night at the Pink Pony and other bars and restaurants on the island. Children’s Trick-or-Treating down Main Street and Market Street. Businesses will be handing out candy Saturday the 27th, 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm.

Costume Contests
You’re going to want to bring your Halloween costume and hit the town! Costume contests will be held at several establishments, including the Pink Pony and Gate House.

This year marks the 23rd running of one of the most scenic trail events in the state. We have a capacity of 3,000 participants running and walking the inside trails of Mackinac Island during the last open weekend of the season.

We planned our annual trip around the Great Turtle Race, and it was great fun to experience the island on closing weekend and conquer my first half marathon (and place in my age group—what the what!). Not to mention, the 13.1 miles of hills and muddy trails took me to incredible views on the island which I would otherwise not have ever witnessed.

Another #halfmarathon in the books! Also one more state checked off my #50by50! This race was no joke... LOTS of hills and the weather wasn’t great. Although it was the hardest race I’ve ran, both physically and mentally, it sure was pretty. Now I am suffering the pain of running and then riding in a car for 10+ hrs to get home yesterday! My feet were swollen! 😳 I haven’t been following a meal plan other than the #seefooddiet and my training really slipped off this month, but I am still proud of this race. On to #newgoals... more to come later on that!
