Here’s a quick glimpse of the walkway garden leading to the Carriage House Restaurant at the Hotel Iroquois. Look for this garden to get more sumptuous and colorful at the summer season progresses. (Photos taken June 11, 2019.)

Chicago To Mackinac Race! Up, Close and Personal for me today.. it was amazing! after watching the race map throughout the night and seeing the crazy storms that they had to endure last night I wanted to be sure I saw the winner of the cruising division cross the finish line! It was 5:45am and I was the only person on the streets of mackinac island watching WhiteHawk sail through the Mackinac Bridge.. I am thrilled I was able to capture these moments.. seeing the winner of race pull up to the dock was amazing! With family in St Ignace, I have been to just about every event and activity in the area except one, until last week. The Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac. We spent a day on Mackinac Island at the finish line watching the boats complete the 114th annual 333 mile race. It was a hazy day thanks to some more Canadian wild fire smoke so the vivid colors of the sails and bridge didn’t come through in the photos as well as in person.
