A slight dip in temperatures and some change in the color of the leaves has started....that means its cider (hot or cold)and donut season at The Cannonball Oasis!! Yesterday was actually so warm we made a few cider and ice cream floats, sooooo good!

🐾 Day 12: Mackinac Island 🐾 Good night's sleep and a slow morning. Secured the camper, then off we went to catch the ferry to Mackinac Island. There were some other dogs on board so... let's just say I was a bit of a handful. But we made it! ⛴️🐕 Getting off the ferry was chaos — SO many people, SO many horses. No cars allowed on this island, so everyone gets around by carriage or bike, which Mom decided was the way to go. I got loaded into a hard kennel carrier and made SURE everyone within earshot knew exactly how I felt about that... pretty much until mile 6. 😤🚲 We stopped for lunch along the water, then the Rents found a great little spot for me to run around and swim in my 3rd Great Lake — Lake Huron! 🌊🎉 I saved the grand finale for the home stretch — lots of looks, and probably some video of me just floating around like I own the place. 😂 After that exhausting morning, we relaxed on the lawn out front of the Mission Point Hotel overlooking the lake while we waited to check in. The Rents enjoyed a beverage, I took a nap. Then I decided eating a bee was a great idea — my tongue got a little swollen, so Mom had to run and find Benadryl. All good now though! 🐝😬 Finished the day with a delicious meal at The Round Island Kitchen (love a good kids menu 😋), then a trip to the stick library to pick the perfect after-dinner stick and some off-leash time with Dad. Now we're back in the room, chilling, and honestly I'm exhausted. Back to camp tomorrow — sounds like it could be a bumpy, rainy day. Thanks for checking in. During a rather calm sunset two ferries were headed to Mackinaw City and St. Ignace at the same time to deliver visitors back to mainland Michigan. Checkered red and white tablecloths spread on the grass of Fort Mackinac’s parade grounds create a patchwork quilt welcoming hungry patriots with Grand Hotel’s all-you-can-eat tangy BBQ baby back ribs, grilled chicken breasts, hamburgers, hot dogs, turkey burgers, corn on the cob, and a slew of salads, fixings and desserts.
