Post-race partying after six days of race committee duty for racetomackinac, and a tiny view of the minor chaos of docking 100+ boats at the island. Parties included a newly created brunch for first timers - both crew of new boat/skipper combos doing their inaugural race, and individual crew members doing their first Mac. Love the positive reinforcement for newbies. #cycrtm

With family in St Ignace, I have been to just about every event and activity in the area except one, until last week. The Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac. We spent a day on Mackinac Island at the finish line watching the boats complete the 114th annual 333 mile race. It was a hazy day thanks to some more Canadian wild fire smoke so the vivid colors of the sails and bridge didn’t come through in the photos as well as in person. I still think you can get an idea of how special the day was. #CYCRTM #canonphotography #progradedigital #blackrapidstrap #thinktankphoto
